Fibre Engineer

Fibre Engineer - Circa £37,000 + vehicle

Requirements:
• Previous experience within FTTP
• BT Openreach PIA accreditations SA002/SA001 (Safety UG and OH); S8 (PIA Cable Installation Overhead); S7 (PIA Sub Duct and Cable Installation UG); K8 (UG Test Rod & rope); PIA Safe Working In Civils SA006; PIA SA010 Work In Medium Risk Confined Spaces; Core Drilling - CD1
• Demonstrable knowledge of the Openreach PIA network quality standards
• NRSWA operative ticket (street works)
• NOPS Smart Awards card
• Full clean driving license, preferably including towing
• Dumper ticket and experience
• First aid qualification
• Site health and safety qualification and experience
• MEWP licence would be desirable
• Strong teamwork ethic
• An innovative thinker with the ability to be resourceful and with good problem solving skills

Responsibilities:
• Working as part of a team ensuring that all requirements are transported to site on schedule
• Completing risk assessments prior to any works commencing on site
• Adhering to instructions to carry out work and following method statements provided and maintaining vigilance to identify activity to enable the site to be operating smoothly and efficiently
• Ensuring that work is carried out with minimum disruption to the public
• Using a tablet to read and record site data; e.g., photograph as built and upload to tablets
• Ensuring health and safety is always paramount and PPE is appropriate for each task
• Complying with Health and Safety regulations, including appropriate use of SLG, PPE and other tools and equipment, as well as maintaining a safe works site at all times.
• Reporting all strikes, accidents, incidents to management
• Completing risk assessments prior to any works commencing on site
• Civils Avoidance
• Ensure equipment used is fit for purpose
• Conduct daily plant check using relevant documentation
• Using utility detection equipment
• Using gas detections equipment
• Setting up work site in line with NRSWA
