SWS Broadband sponsors pony club rosettes
A successful Pony Club horse and pony care competition was held at Berriewood Farm, Condover recently, with all competitors receiving SWS Broadband sponsored rosettes.
The United Pack Pony Club (UPPC) of Craven Arms hosted the event, which saw 138 children show off their skills caring for ponies, equipment and the countryside in general.
Sally Williams, District Commissioner from UPPC, said: “The Pony Club was created for children to learn to ride, care for and compete on their ponies and to learn respect for the countryside.
“We were delighted to host the Midlands round of the Pony Club horse and pony care competition, with teams competing from across Shropshire and as far afield as Northampton. The competition was non riding but rather about the care, feeding and ailments of horses, the care and use of tack and rugs, and care and consideration for the countryside.
“We are incredibly grateful to SWS Broadband for sponsoring all the rosettes, because without the financial support of local businesses events such as this simply wouldn’t be able to go ahead.”
Rachel Corner, sales director for SWS, said: “SWS Broadband has its roots firmly planted in supporting rural communities, so it was a pleasure for us to be able help these young people who through competition are demonstrating commitment to their rural surroundings and the wildlife in it.
“Congratulations to every single person who won one of the colourful rosettes – we hope they will be a lasting reminder to everyone of a brilliant day.”
